Classroom Webcam: Bring Small Demonstrations into View

Students at the back of the room can easily miss a small movement or detail. Webcam lets you show a live camera or document-camera feed inside Sabura so everyone can see the demonstration more clearly.

Set up the view before you start

Check the lighting, framing, and selected camera first. If the image appears the wrong way around, use the flip controls to correct it.

Keep a short observation prompt beside the feed so students know what detail they should watch.

Controls and settings

Start webcam asks for browser permission and begins the live view. Stop webcam ends it. In Settings, choose a connected camera and flip the image horizontally or vertically if needed. A document camera must be recognised by the browser as a camera device before it can be selected. The tool displays the live feed; it does not provide a recording workflow.

Set it up in Sabura

  1. Open Webcam from the toolbar or More menu.
  2. Allow camera access and choose the device you want.
  3. Adjust the orientation and position the feed beside your instructions.

Show how to line up a ruler

Use a document camera to demonstrate placing the zero mark of a ruler against the edge of an object. Pause and ask why the starting point matters, then show the measurement slowly before students try it themselves.

Teaching tip

Check the projected feed from the back of the room. Moving the camera closer may help more than simply making a blurry image larger.

Questions teachers ask
