Classroom Notes: Keep Instructions Easy to Follow

Students should not have to remember every instruction after hearing it once. Notes lets you keep the task, key words, examples, or success criteria visible while the class works.

Keep each note focused

Use a short heading and put each step on its own line. If you need an example or a list of key vocabulary, give it a separate note rather than squeezing everything into one block of text.

Choose a text size that can be read from the back of the room, and use colour or highlighting only when it helps students find something important.

Controls and settings

The text toolbar lets you choose a font and size, apply bold, change alignment, and create lists. You can also change text colour, highlight selected words, and set the note background. Select the text you want to change before formatting it. Each note can be moved and resized independently.

Set it up in Sabura

  1. Choose Text to add a new note.
  2. Write the instructions and format the important parts.
  3. Move or resize the note, and add another one if you need to separate different types of information.
In the classroom

Three clear steps for a science explanation

Show “Observe the diagram”, “Describe what changes”, and “Explain why” in one note. Put key words such as liquid, heat, and vapour in a second note. Students can refer back to both while they work instead of asking you to repeat the instructions.

Teaching tip

If a note feels crowded, cut words before shrinking the font. Clear reading matters more than fitting every detail onto the screen.

Questions teachers ask

Can I open more than one note?
Yes. Add another Text window for a separate instruction or example. The number available depends on your plan.
What works well beside a note?
A timer, image, PDF, or Draw board can all work well depending on the task.
